What's Not in Ephesians 6:4

"And you, fathers, not not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:4; NKJV).

1. The state
is not in Ephesians 6:4.

2. The local church is not in Ephesians 6:4.

3. Mom is not in Ephesians 6:4.

Ephesians 6:4 speaks of the responsibility of Fathers!

Bring up: ektrepho – to rear up to maturity, i.e. to cherish or train (Strong's)

Nurture: paideia – tutorage, i.e. education or training; by implication, disciplinary correction: KJV - chastening, chastisement, instruction, nurture. (Strong's)

Admonition: nouthesia – calling attention to, i.e. (by implication) mild rebuke or warning: KJV - admonition. (Strong’s)

Lord: kurios – from kuros (supremacy); supreme in authority. (Strong's)

Prayers to pray for our Fathers…

1. Pray for faith! (Abraham - Genesis 18:19)

2. Pray for wisdom! (David – Solomon – 1 Chronicles 28:9)

3. Pray for strength & courage! (Joshua – Joshua 24:15)

4. Pray for your children! (Job – Job 1:5)
