"For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake" (1 Thessalonians 1:5; NKJV).
1. In Word - the gospel was preached (see Acts 17:1-4)
2. In Power - "universally, inherent power, power residing in a thing by virtue of its nature, or which a person or thing exerts and puts forth" (Thayer's).
3. In the Holy Spirit - the Spirit convicts (see John 16:8-11).
"And some of them were persuaded; and a great multitude of the devout Greeks, and not a few of the leading women, joined Paul and Silas" (Acts 17:4; NKJV).
