Perhaps our chief end is to glorify God. King Herod was struck by an angel of God
“because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died” (Acts 12:23). To glorify God is to honor Him, to acknowledge His attributes, and to praise Him for His perfections. It is to recognize His glory and extol Him for it. It is God’s will that we glorify Him in all things (1 Peter 4:11).
“For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.” (2 Corinthians 4:15; NKJV). How am I doing? How are we doing as a local church?
