“...giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ...” (Ephesians 5:20; NKJV).
Ephesians 5:3-4 describes a manner of life, a way of life. As the children of God (Ephesians 5:1), we are not to live in such a way. Rather we are to imitate God (Ephesians 5:1), we are to walk in love (Ephesians 5:2), we are to live a life of thanksgiving (Ephesians 5:4).
Thanksgiving is a sign of the Spirit filled life (Ephesians 5:18-20). In Christ, thanksgiving and praise are the "sacrifices" we offer to God (Hebrews 13:10-16).
In this season of thanksgiving, let us resolve to live out our days with a thankful heart. “Every good and perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights...” (James 1:17).
